Things We Love: Angry Chick Songs

While we’re celebrating singlehood today (and feeling the need to do something, anything, to offset those sickening jewelry commericals involving women startling during thunderstorms), we thought we’d compile our top 5 angry chick songs to help you through this sometimes-nauseating holiday.

So, in no particular order, here are some of our favorites.

5. Alanis Morisette – You Ought Know It’s really become an anthem, no?

4. Skunk Anansie – Hedonism. Here’s one you may or may not know. But man, listen to the lyrics. She is really sticking it to this guy. “Just because you’re happy…….doesn’t make it right.” (ouch)

3. Britney Spears – Womanizer That’s our Britney! She calls ‘em as she sees ‘em! (this still doesn’t explain K-Fed……)

2. Black Eyed Peas – Shut Up When you need to boil it down to two fine words….. this song sorta fell of the Top 40 radar. And I say, bring it back!

1. Carrie Underwood – Before He Cheats Most of us will never indulge in the pleasure of trashing the personal property of our cheating boyfriend. And that is why it’s so much fun to watch Carrie do it. You go girl!

There are so many more, of course. Tell me your favorites (I have an anti-Valentine’s Day play list on my iPod that is begging for new entries). There are 7 more sappy days between now and Valentine’s Day, including today. So we may well need more…
