THE URBAN GIRL'S SURVIVAL GUIDE

TrendSpotting: It’s Almost Time for Jeans

I don’t know about you but I’m really over my summer wardrobe. I’ve worn everything a bunch of times and I’m bored with it. I’m out of creative ideas for mixing and matching, accessorizing, etc. Most of my white tees and sandals have reached the end of their one-season life cycle. And, to be really honest, I’m tired of having to shave my legs every day.

I want the humidity to end. The Fall breezes to kick in. I want pumpkins. I want hayrides.

And I want jeans.

They’re sitting neatly and lonely in my bottom drawer. I’m starting to look at them longingly. The right jeans make everything look good. They go with everything. They’re comfy. And they make my butt look good.

And now I ask myself, is my denim wardrobe ready for the new season?

Skinny jeans aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. This, we know. I’m happy with the ones I have although I feel I need to add a pair in faded grey denim.

Next up, I’m loving the rolled up boyfriend-style jean. Could it get any easier? The trick, I think, is to pair them with very sexy footwear (or you risk looking like you’re out for a day of “creek stomping”). Ideally, I’m thinking I can make this happen by rolling up some of my old (and now out of style) bootcut jeans… What do we think?

The ones I really like are the true-blue loose cut jeans with all the right fading and rips…

What about you? Are you denim ready?

Sadly, why can't summer last forever?
  • Jess, like you, I'm totally over my summer clothes. Fall has the greatest styles and they last for so much longer. Most can even be carried over from season to season. My staples: 7 jeans and scrunchy sweaters (short sleeved & long). Still form-fitting but so comfy. I CANT WAIT FOR FALL! (oooo and ANKLE BOOTS! swoon)
  • I've been wearing jeans all summer. Do you really only wear jeans in the fall/winter?
  • well it's been 90+ degrees in Philadelphia all summer so, no, the jeans have not come out to play at all. Soon though, very soon!
