Trendspotting: Kristin Cavallari’s Feather Earrings
Posted by Jess - 21/07/10 at 11:07 amI’m one of those people who responds to most new trends with a heavy dose of skepticism. After seeing it a 2nd or 3rd time… (a good 6 months before it hits K-Mart) I’ll usually embrace it with excitement.
And just as it once was with Beverly Hills 90210 (round 1), I think MTV offers up fashions early adopters on The Hills and The City. While the former has just closed its final chapter, I think its safe to say that MTV will continue to give us a sneak peek of the trends to come.
Last night, I caught up with the tail end of The Hills. And Kristin Cavallari, bitch though she may be, was wearing earrings to die for. Not the big long and loud feather earrings in garish colors that you might be seeing in Forever 21, but long delicate silver strands with tiny white feathers attached. Watching the dangling flashes of silver and white cascading alongside her blonde locks, well that was my moment. I must have them.
Alas, the internet refuses to reveal her jewelry source, so unless Kristin decides to reply to me on Twitter (maybe unlikely considering I just called her a bitch?), I am left a close copy. Below, some I found on Etsy that come close. They’re bolder than what Kristin wore, but I don’t know. Still very very cool, no?
