CRAZY Date Idea: Running Barefoot

Has anyone else read the book Born to Run? Awesome awesome book. The basic summary is:
1. Humans were made for running long distances. Our lungs/body is set up for exactly that.
2. Nike and the rest of the evil shoe empire has been feeding us all lies for years. We don’t need shoes with padding that inhibit our running stride. That craziness only ends in a world of hurt and shin splints.
3. Running barefoot, or with shoes that are practically barefoot (those green ones with the crazy toes) is the solution. Run light, easy and free (or try) with a shorter, higher stride that has your foot hitting the way it was built to work. Pain, weird shin problems, and odd foot issues will (in theory) become a thing of the past!
Which leads us to our randomly crazy date idea. Did you know that exercise promotes nooky? And said nooky means a more fun date? Exxxxactly.
So, our thought is that you grab your honey, strap on some sort of non-shoe shoe, and then hit the streets on a warm night. It’s cheap, it’s easy, and you don’t have to have any practice. Also, it’s kind of freeing to do something a little bit different with someone you love. Jog, talk, and increase your…heart rate. If you know what we mean!!!
